I have just launched a crowdfunding campaign that will enable me to invest in the camera gear I need for my PhD fieldwork researching the culture of human rewilding in Australia. This is a journey I embarked upon just over a year ago when I started PhD at the University of Tasmania, supporting a dream that I had when I was first living in Australia six years ago. I dreamed about visiting and living with communities along the East Coast where I would be filming and researching as I went, as well as immersing myself and learning from the land and the people. Many years later I am here, embarking on a very exciting part of this journey, and it feels even more special than I imagined — one of the reasons being that I get to go on this journey with my amazing partner Desmond, who shares and complements many of my dreams.
As you can see from my work on my website I have been doing photography and filmmaking representing rewilding. However, my camera gear is outdated, and as I start my fieldwork where I will be filming for the documentary, I would really like to upgrade my camera gear to be able to create something really special. And this is where the crowdfunding campaign comes in!
Campaign Page
Find the campaign page here! On this page, you will find a video of me making my pitch, a teaser video, the campaign write-up, and all the perks the backers will receive.
Please check it out and/or share if you would like to support my work!
Teaser
For the campaign, I created a little teaser representing some of my favourite shots from filming the rewilding community in France and Australia over the last few years.
The pitch
I also made a pitch video for you to enjoy 🙂
The research & fieldwork
Over the next year, I will be regularly sharing about my research and work as I immerse myself in the local rewilding communities along the East coast of Australia. I will be sharing on this blog so don’t hesitate to come and find out more about what I am getting up to as I go. I will also be sharing on social media for more day-to-day updates.
I have written a bit more about my research intentions and focus on the campaign page so you can find out more there too.
Thank you!
Thank you for your support (whatever that looks like)!
